Under My Tuscan Sun

After Vermont Summer 2009 063-3“Cathy Ross wants to wake up tomorrow morning basking under the Tuscan Sun…in a villa by the sea…and remain there…indefinitely”…so I wrote on Facebook this past week. The rich, warm colors in this flower from Eastern Market reflect the essence of Tuscany. It triggered an incredible longing inside of me to travel to Italy to meander through the hills of Tuscany, bask in the sun, pick olives, merge with the culture and experience the landscape. The world within this flower is Tuscany. The warmth of the Tuscan sun radiates out to me through the vibrant colors and marking in each petal. Italy…I will come visit you one day to photograph and chronicle your culture. Bottle your wine now and let it age for the day I arrive to feast literally and metaphorically in your splendor!
